Interior Painting in Plainfield, IL

Walls, ceilings, trim and doors painted with full prep and clean, straight lines.

Most interior paint jobs that go wrong were lost before the first coat. Roller marks show through, cut lines wander at the ceiling, patched spots flash under lamplight, and a year later the trim is chipping again. That comes down to prep, not paint. We work one room at a time in your Plainfield home: furniture moved and covered, floors masked, holes filled, edges caulked, and problem spots primed before any colour goes on. Then two finish coats, cut in by hand where walls meet ceilings and trim. What you get is even coverage that still looks even under daylight and lamplight, straight lines at every edge, and a house you can live in while we work. Our workmanship is covered for two years.

What our interior painting work includes

Interior house painting handled by one crew from prep through the final coat.

We patch, sand, caulk and prime before a brush ever touches your finish coat.

Floors, trim and furniture are masked and protected every day we're on site.

Coatings are chosen room by room — scrubbable in kitchens and halls, moisture-rated in baths.

Cut lines stay straight, edges stay crisp and coverage stays even under any light.

What's not included, and how to prepare

Knowing the boundaries up front is what keeps an estimate accurate.

Not included as standard

  • Wallpaper stripping and lead-paint abatement, quoted separately when needed
  • Structural drywall replacement — see our drywall repair service
  • Furniture storage off site or packing of personal belongings
  • Exterior surfaces, covered by our exterior painting service

How to prepare

  • Clear small items, electronics and anything breakable from the rooms being painted
  • Take down wall hangings, mirrors and curtains if you want the fixings removed too
  • Tell us about pets so we can keep doors and gates managed while we work
  • Choose colours before the start date, or ask us to bring samples at the estimate
  • Point out any damp patches or past leaks so we can check them before priming
How It Works

Our interior painting process

One crew, one point of contact, a clear schedule from day one.

  1. Step 01

    Free on-site estimate

We visit your home in Plainfield or a nearby community, measure, talk through options and leave you with a clear written price — no obligation.

  2. Step 02

    Approve and schedule

Once you approve the written scope, a 50% deposit reserves your start date and pays for materials. We confirm dates with you before anyone shows up.

  3. Step 03

    Protect and prep

Furniture is moved and covered, floors masked, then we fill, sand, caulk and spot-prime every surface we're painting.

  4. Step 04

    Prime and paint

Primer where it's needed, then two finish coats with edges cut in by hand at ceilings, trim and corners.

  5. Step 05

    Walkthrough and clean-up

We walk the rooms with you in daylight, touch up anything you flag, and put the space back the way you had it.

Materials and options

  • Washable matt or eggshell for living areas and bedrooms
  • Scrubbable satin for kitchens, hallways and children's rooms
  • Moisture-resistant coatings for bathrooms and laundry rooms
  • Enamel or hybrid finishes for trim, doors and cabinetry
  • Stain-blocking primer over water marks, smoke or strong previous colours

What affects the timeline

  • Number of rooms and ceiling height
  • How much filling, sanding and caulking the walls need first
  • Colour changes that need an extra coat for full coverage
  • Amount of trim, doors and detailed cutting-in
  • Drying time between coats in cold or humid weather

Cleanup and protection

  • Floors, furniture and adjoining rooms are covered before work starts
  • Debris is removed from the work area at the end of each day
  • Dust control on any sanding, cutting or demolition
  • Final clean of the finished space before your walkthrough
  • All our own materials, offcuts and packaging hauled away

We don't quote a fixed price or duration before seeing the job. Both are confirmed in writing after your free on-site estimate.

Straight Answer

Repaint, repair first, or replace?

Paint hides very little. A quick look at the wall usually tells you which of these three you actually need.

Repaint only

Sound walls with tired or dated colour, minor scuffs and small nail holes. Standard filling and sanding handles it.

Repair, then paint

Cracked seams, nail pops, dents or old patches that show through. We fix and texture-match the surface first, otherwise the new paint highlights it.

Replace the board first

Soft, stained or crumbling drywall, or anything that has taken on water. Painting over it traps the problem — the board needs cutting back and rebuilding.

Common Questions

Interior Painting questions homeowners ask

How long does it take to paint a room?

It depends on the prep more than the painting. A single room in good condition is usually a short job; a whole interior with heavy filling, trim work and colour changes takes considerably longer. We give you a schedule in writing with your estimate rather than a guess over the phone.

Do I need to move out while you paint?

No. We work room by room, use low-odour coatings and clean up at the end of every day so the rest of the house stays usable. We agree with you which rooms are being worked on each day.

Do you supply the paint, or should I buy it?

We supply everything — primer, coatings, filler, caulk and masking — and it's itemised in your written estimate. If you have a brand or colour you want used, tell us at the estimate and we'll price it that way.

Will you fix the cracks and holes before painting?

Yes. Filling, sanding and caulking are part of a standard interior repaint. Larger damage — failed seams, water-stained board, big holes — is drywall repair and is priced separately so you can see exactly what it costs.

How many coats do you apply?

Two finish coats as standard, plus primer where the surface needs it, such as over patches, water stains or a big colour change. We don't count a primer coat as one of the two.
